Journal of an Unknown Soldier - “CreepyPasta” Review by Josh
If you like Journal Stories and Cryptids this is the story for you! Josh here and with a first impressions/review of this story the guys @ CreepCast recently read through!
Premise:
A group of bounty hunters / headhunters, in the Cowboys and Indian time, you know the one we all loved playing as kids. The author of the story joins this group of Bounty hunters to try and make some money, wouldn’t say honest work but work. They are given missions to go hunt Indians down and kill them. The riches you get from those you plunder are yours to keep. But with Indians you know there is stories of the unknown, the Earth Spirits stronger than anyone could ever understand.
Story:
Short and sweet, about a 2-hour episode, they go out on a mission, kill, and burn the village. But there is something else in the wood line, a lone cabin, with something in a cage. Feathers around the cabin, well greed got the best of them. They go into the Cabin, almost all except two and do unspeakable things to this creature that looks like a woman, then set her free. Well set “IT” free is a better way to put it. They start getting followed by a giant Owl, and I mean GIANT. 10+ foot wingspan. Always close enough to be seen but not close enough to get shot. During their ride they find a random Navajo alone, looking to find something. He tells them a story of his village, which I don’t want to put here because I feel like you just must listen to it to know!
Thoughts and Spoilers:
What a great story! I found myself just wondering how the story would take a turn into the darker side. You know the reason why it’s considered a creepy story. I know of all the Spirits that typically protect the Indian lands, but the first village came so easy to them. They didn’t even have to fight that hard. The village just folded.
***SPOILERS BELOW ***:
What was the woman in the tent?
She was a Crypted being, a shapeshifter of sorts.
What happened to the author of the story?
You never really know, you can assume he is killed by the Crypted.
What happened to the rest of the crew?
They are hunted and killed minus one.
What did the Navajo tell them about the village?
The creature that was in the cabin was this Cryptid, and shapeshifter that turned into an owl. This creature will kill everything that walks on this Earth, doesn’t matter who it is, or what it is.
