I work at a Half-Priced Voodoo Store - “CreepyPasta” Review by Josh
Hey, all Josh here, this is a Creep cast episode I finished on Friday night! It was an interesting listen to the least. I recommend it though, it was awesome!
Characters:
King Creole: The owner of the shop and man that looked like a Voodoo doll, had button eyes, and stiches.
Travis: Main character of the story, and the assistant to King Creole.
Premise of the Story:
Travis has just finished high school and doesn’t know what he wants to do with his life, so he gets a job at this half-priced voodoo store, and that’s when the weird stuff begins.
Story:
Travis is just another everyday high schooler who just graduated and doesn’t know what he wants to do with his life, so he just starts applying to all kinds of places. He gets a call from an unknown number, answers it and it’s King Creole, but he doesn’t remember applying for this position. He takes the job anyways and starts working in this shop, his main job is just ringing people up for potions or voodoo dolls. If someone asks for a wish, he must go to King Creole to do it. There is always a catch to each of the wishes, so he always tells people to be careful what you wish for. Some of the other weird things in the shops are, to clock in you must stab a voodoo doll, the voodoo dolls on the wall follow you as you walk around. The shelves stock themselves so he doesn’t have to do that either. There is also something in the basement that tries to get out all the time. The author is basically just going through the motions because he gets paid well to do it! I don’t want to go into each of the instances because I think that’s why this story is so good.
Thoughts and Spoilers:
The story was amazing, wasn’t too over the top, but a good mixture.
What was King Creole?
Was a person in his life but he is no longer one, you find out very late in the story what happens to him, he is killed by the mob, and his mom brings him back from the dead. She is a voodoo doctor.
What issues can come from wishes?
You see in more than one instance death is pretty much always what happens.
Why don’t the cops ever come to the shop and investigate these murders?
They have an agreement with King Creole.
What is that thing in the basement?
A porcelain doll that was once a human.
