The Dead Girl In my Yard - “CreepyPasta” Review by Josh
Hey all, Josh here, this is another Creep Cast episode that I think you all should listen to too! It was insanely descriptive which made for a creepy episode and sent shivers down my spine.
There are basically two main characters in the story. The main character, which I don’t remember hearing his name, is not even sure if they say it. The other main character is a creature named Windy.
The Story:
Our main character lives with his dying mother and dying brother. His father died very early in his life, so he’s been surrounded by death his entire life. He also has been told his whole life that he must stay in the yard and cannot venture out towards the trees. No real reason given other than there are just things out there. He ventures out and stubbles onto a miner’s lettuce patch where he runs into this creature. He describes her as this monstrous creature but is not afraid of her. Throughout the story he gets to know her better and they begin to become good friends. He goes out every night and meets with her, and they go on all types of adventures.
As the story progresses, he finds himself not needing to eat much or sleep. He just wants to go back out into the miner’s lettuce to meet Windy. She shows him all kinds of beautiful sites, and he begins to almost become obsessed. Windy introduces him to her “brothers” which in gruesome detail talks about how they died and why they look the way they do. She even proposed they could be together forever if he did a specific task. Completing this task would take him away from this prison of a life that he lives. He must eat something living is the task he is given, but I won’t spoil what that living item is. The story is so good I really want you all to listen to it and come up with your own opinions.
Thoughts:
Creepy story for sure, the amount of detail is unreal. It was hard for me to put it down because I wanted to know what Windy was, and why can she be so terrifying in appearance, but not be feared.
Spoilers:
What is Windy?
I believe she is a Wendigo, but not the one you all know. It’s almost like she’s the monster and the victim the whole time.
What does our main character have to eat?
A living person, which you see is his brother, that’s who Windy wants him to kill.
What happened to her brothers?
They all died in very brutal ways, and Windy ate part of them to become what she is.
Why does Windy stick around?
There is unfinished business she wants to burn down the forest which is where the “monster” lives. You find out in the story wise it seems like Windy is just stricken by anger and that’s causing her to pursue our characters interest so much.
