Horror Games just around the corner!

Wanted to take a moment to talk about a bunch of horror games coming out in the next ~year or so…we seem to still be eating pretty good in the space right now with games like Dead by Daylight seemingly never ended pipeline of content, Phasmophobia, Hunt Showdown (more of a PVP game, but has a lot of horror elements in it) and the new Silent Hill game that’s out, not to mention the COUNTLESS indie games out there, but over the next year, the releases look VERY stacked.
Resident Evil 9 “Requiem”
This series needs no introduction. Countless games, spinoffs, movies, merchandise. IMO the shining use of the IP in recent history has been the games. RE7 (Biohazard) and RE8 (Village) were both PHENOMENAL, and this game seems to be following in their footsteps. Just the early footage alone looks unreal.

Alien : Isolation 2
The first game was an all time great horror game, and introduced the somewhat scarce Alien franchise to a lot of gamers. The 1st games story melded a very faithful story of Ripley’s daughter in the canon universe and told a story that was both heartfelt and interesting while fleshing out the universe and setting with immersive gameplay and an incredible attention to detail and the IPs hyper stylized design in the ships, androids, retro looking machinery and computer systems, and of course the Xeno. I know there’s a new game that’s come out in the series that looks like an FPS or something but I don’t know much about it. I am VERY interested to see where an AI2 goes, because anything tied to the folks responsible for the first game HAS to be good until proven otherwise in my opinion.
Halloween: The Game
Another one that needs no intro, Halloween. This game, from what I remember is being made by the Friday the 13th : The Game team when they got booted of that game/IP, and this game seems like it will be another asymmetrical horror PVP game, but with some twists (sounds like part of the survivor win conditions involve warning Haddonfield residents to leave bc Michael is out?). Either way, I’m always down for horror games, and one with Halloween as its setting, and a gameplay loop that has a lot of replayability

Hellraiser
This one kind of came out of left field, and from initial footage looks super cool, I’m not sure of the gameplay structure or loop, but either way, this IP getting its own game and not relegated to only a DbD dlc killer should be really cool!

Directive 8020
From the Dark Pictures Anthology team, space horror game coming out next year! The Man of Medan and Little Hope were incredible games to play with friends (just wish you could play more than 2 player!!!). This game is taking the point and click / Telltale game formula to space in what looks to be a super eerie and cool!
