Bacon’s Castle Recap - Nov. 22nd, 2025
One of the oldest standing buildings in the United States if not the oldest! The original part of the house is 360 years old. Most know this in History from Bacon’s Rebellion, and for the paranormal world you may have seem them featured on “Ghost Hunters.” This has mostly been known by the “Fireball” or Woman in White, that you can research on your own if you are curious.
The Tour:
The tour is guided by paranormal investigators and one of the tenants of the house with about 5 years of equipment.
Equipment Used:
Rem Pod
Cat Balls
Dead Bell
Emf Reader
Tour cost:
$20 dollars per person.
My experience:
We got there a little early, so we got to wander the grounds, I took a few pictures with some weird phenomena. We went to several places in the house The first room we went into, the guide put down a dead bell in between emf rope, and while she was talking about one specific person who had been seen in the house the dead bell went off. Upstairs the guide was talking about a little boy named Henry and while they were talking about him, I felt my shirt get tugged. Kind of like when my 2-year-old is trying to get my attention looked down and saw a rope, so pushed it off as that being the cause. It happened again on the same side, but right when I was about to dismiss it, I felt a tug on the back of my shirt then some pressure on my hip along with goosebumps even though the house wasn’t that cold overall. In the last room of the house, we were talking about one specific spirit not liking strangers in their area, and the entire emf rope went off and the dead bell dinged a few times. While we were wrapping up in the room, I looked in the back of the room adjoining the area we were in, I swore I saw a shadow move from left to right. I asked the guide about that, and she said that was a common occurrence.
Final Thoughts:
Throughout the tour we were constantly getting activity, each of the rooms that had equipment had some sort of activity. Nothing constant but little moments, which got me amped up. I had a ton of fun on this tour, and I recommend it to all who are history buffs and into the paranormal. They offer private investigations as well, so look out for that notification because it’s going to happen at some point.
